The Senses
At the start of the year our first project was to look into the five senses. I chose the sense touch and looked into how we use touch for sensory work. My brother is autistic and often uses touch to help him. Without touch we would not be able to do a lot of things, like pick objects up, get dressed and so much more. It is one of the most important senses out of all of them. As a creative person I would struggle not to be able to use the sense touch. I created a pattern based on as many ways you could touch and sensory work. I cut up pieces of textured materials and stuck them to a square piece of card board. I then painted them and stamped them onto bright different textured pieces of fabric. After this I arranged them into pattern and edited them using a computer. I then used the finished pattern on my garment, pictured below.
