My Designs

When starting the group project we divided up the group roles and work so that everyone had a part to contribute to the group. We started off by designing some patterns based on addiction, we choose gambling and tried to make patterns based on what people who gamble go through. We researched different types of gambling and looked at patterns and shapes that make up the addiction. After trying many different designs we decided on the hand design I did. The idea behind this design was that the hands were different sizes, different colours and coming from every direction of the page. This would represent the people in an addicts life and they could be family, friends, dealers, loan sharks or anyone. All these people are represented in the hands, but you couldn’t tell who was who just by looking at the hands. Is the red hand helpful? Will the green hand hurt you? But you don’t know and that’s something an addict has to deal with everyday, not knowing who’s hand will lead to what.
